Containing graphic gore more appropriate to an R-rated horror movie, and sexual dialogue more at home on a cheesy Cinemax soft-core p*rno film, the Fox broadcast network nevertheless assigns Scream Queens a rating appropriate for 14 year old children. And make no mistake: 14 year olds ARE still children, still deserving of the protection given to those who are younger. Yet, Scream Queens offers them content like the following:

  • We can't remember the last time we were as hyped up for a series premiere as we are for Scream Queens, in which a masked Red Devil hunts college Kappas, seeking to avenge an old murder. Then again, we can't remember the last time somebody made a hyper-GIF-able casserole of Clueless, Mean Girls, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. (Leave it to Ryan Murphy.) Debut day and its two-hour premiere is finally here—so hydrate, rest up those tweeting thumbs, and read our primer before Queens kicks off at 8 P.M. on Fox tonight.
