The Best ROR2 Mods
Now, this is a very straightforward list overall, but the important thing to keep in mind are the prerequisites for each of the featured mods. Namely, none of them work withRisk of Rain 2 by default, and you'll need to install a few extra tidbits of code before you're good to go.
That said, it's all simple stuff. Very straightforward and self-explanatory. Simply use the links we've provided and follow the relevant instructions! You'll have your shiny new Goku mod installed inno time whatsoever. Here's our list of the best mods!
#10: Enforcer
by EnforcerGang
A classicRisk of Rain character, the Enforcer focuses on two specific - and obvious - gadgets for the entirety of his kit. The first is his trusty shotgone and the second is the riot shield. The majority of his kit is successfully translated from the original game, then. The result is a fun new combat loop that lets players knock enemies around, dish out tear gas, and heaps more. A great showing, overall, and very true to the game's tone.
Prerequisites:
#9: ClassicItems
by ThinkInvis
If you just can't shake off the nostalgia from the very firstRisk of Raingame, don't worry about it! The lovely modder ThinkInvis has produced avery comprehensive and true-to-form modpack. Note, however, that ClassicItems doesnot concern itself with balance all that much. According to ThinkInvis themselves, the numbers are closer to their originalROR versions, and the old artifact combos do, indeed, still work.
Prerequisites:
#8: ProperSave
by KingEnderBrine
This is a really, really simple mod. At the same time, it was also effectively unthinkable forRisk of Rain 2 to support this functionality on launch day! Indeed, what this mod does is that it allows you to save your progress at the very start of each level. As long as you leave the match before dying, you should be able to turn the game off and come back to it later on. Some limitations do still apply, however, as you cannot retry rounds after dying, and you cannot field multiple savegames at the same time.
Prerequisites:
#7: Vegeta
by kinggrinyov
Ever wanted to play a true-to-lore version of Vegeta in a game where he could scale basically infinitely? This is the ticket!Dragon Ball's first major villain (turned good guy) is now available as a fully custom-made mod forROR2, and that means a custom move-set, animations, interactions, and more! It's a lovely rendition of a fan favorite from one of the biggest anime franchises of all time, making this mod a must-have.
Prerequisites:
#6: Goku
by kinggrinyov
It's almost befuddling how nobody came up with this idea beforehand, butyes, you can finally playROR2 as Goku from the DragonBall franchise. Much like every other mod character, Goku too comes with his own suite of skills and abilities, and makes for a fascinating new gameplay loop when you come to terms with his abilities. The main draw -of course - is that Goku shifts from one Super Saiyan stage to another as the match progresses!
Prerequisites:
#5: WolfoQualityOfLife
by Wolfo
Quality of life improvements arealways welcome, andROR2's ping feature can be insanely useful in multiplayer matches, where one player might be chasing after a specific kind of item, only for someone else to come across it. Well, the incredibly helpful WolfoQualityOfLife mod deploys unique ping icons for all the major items and drops in the game. On top of that, it also revamps some of the buff/debuff icons for easier readability at a moment's notice.
Prerequisites:
#4: MysticsItems
by TheMysticSword
Do the oldROR1 items do nothing for you? Would you prefer to have ahuge array of entirely new items, instead? MysticsItems mod byTheMysticSword is the ultimate mod for you! Featuring a whopping 40 entirely new items, this mod adds a huge amount of variety to each and every one of your future runs. There's a bunch of exciting new functionality featured as part of this item library, too, and it's an exciting upgrade for everyROR2 player, we believe.
Prerequisites:
#3: ShareSuite
by FunkFrog-and-Sipondo
As great asRisk of Rain 2's multiplayer may be, handling several players' worth of builds and item combinations gets really tiring really quick. In fact, it's all too easy to pick up an item that your pal may have needed or wanted, and that can straight-up destroy runs later on. ShareSuite alleviates this problem by, quite simply, allowing you toshare your items with the rest of your team in a variety of ways!
Prerequisites:
#2: BiggerBazaar
by MagnusMagnuson
Another improvement that's effectively a vanilla upgrade, the BiggerBazaar mod improves the Bazaar Between Time in just about every way that matters. Essentially, this mod adds a variety of items that players can purchase using either the in-game credits or Lunar Coins themselves. It's not ahuge mod, to be sure, but it's one that's going to add way more utility to this location than you're likely to be used to.
Prerequisites:
#1: BetterUI
by XOXFaby
BetterUI is kind of difficult to show off by default, butboy is it a game-changer when you play Risk of Rain 2. A subtle game-changer, but still. This is an expansion of the game's core UI systems. Effectively it tells you more by showing you hard, concrete data in a very comprehensible format. Never again will you need to worry about an item's buffs and debuffs. Or to rely on the base game's admittedly nondescriptive item explanations. BetterUI revamps just about every aspect ofRisk of Rain 2's interface, and it's a real must-have.
